Paper presentation: Ancient Philosophy in the Present

Abstract: The ancient quest to ‘Know Thyself’ (Gnōthi Seauton) involved the mastery of the quadrivium and the trivium– the precursors to contemporary interdisciplinary investigations in preparation for the revelation of wisdom. This presentation points to the classical ‘one-many’ problem with its reception today and suggests a philosophical syncretism consolidated in theory and practice with modern domains of thought in the sciences and humanities. We will glimpse into prospective multi-dimensional levels of reality and their connections with empirically verifiable perspectives while inquiring into their synoptic challenge to expand on a kind of knowledge relevant to the individual and the metaphysical Self.
